PERFORMANCE: Wave Of Inspiration - Stories in Sound
Boston Rock/Classical instrumental band Ginger Ibex joins dancer/mime Karen Montanaro to explore the rich imagery & inspiration of dance improvised to live music. Includes audience interaction & optional participation. Karen Montanaro is a world-renowned dancer and mime artist, an award-winning choreographer, and the innovator of "mimedance" (the fusion of two classical art forms). She was recently awarded the 2008 Individual Artist Fellowship grant from the Maine Arts Commission. Ginger Ibex performs the original piano and strings compositions of pianist Sharon Crumrine with Betty Widerski on 6-string viola, Michael Steigman on drums, and supporting string players. Ginger Ibex released their debut album "Firefly" in October 2009. Purchasers of tickets in advance receive $5 off the album, available night of the performance.
