The 2010 Richmond Festival of Music: The Bohemian Soul
The Chamber Music Society of Central Virginia's flagship event returns to Richmond in April, this year featuring the music of two favorite classical composers - Johannes Brahms and Antonin Dvorak. The 2010 Richmond Festival of Music "The Musical Worlds of Dvorak and Brahms" - is a week-long event featuring three concerts plus free events and a masterclass, all performed by a cast of eight internationally acclaimed musicians from Europe and the United States.
The finale concert of the 2010 Richmond Festival of Music, "The Bohemian Soul," will showcase Czech music by Dvorak and his compatriots Josef Suk and Leos Janacek. Featured are chamber music works for double bass and string quartet. Performers include Violinists Lily Francis and Diane Pascal, violist Roger Tapping and bassist Anthony Manzo.
