A Cooks & Books Conversation with Grace Young and Friends
Stir-frying is not just a cooking method. For generations of the Chinese diaspora, stir-frying has represented a taste of home and an exercise in resourcefulness as well as the ability to adapt. Author Grace Young shares the inspiration for her latest cookbook, which serves as a springboard into a discussion about stir-frying and the Chinese diaspora. Writer and media consultant, Hsiao-Ching Chou leads the conversation, which also features Ellen Chou, whose experience Young profiles in the book, and Lorna Yee, who writes about her own stir-frys and culinary escapades at thecookbookchronicles.com, Grace Young is the author of The Wisdom of the Chinese Kitchen and The Breath of a Wok - both were awarded the IACP Award for Best International Cookbook.
The conversation will begin at 7pm at the Hotel Andra, A selection of dishes from the book will be served, and a cash bar on hand as well. Copies of Stir Frying to the Sky's Edge will be available at a discounted price that evening, to be signed by Grace at the conclusion of the evening. $35.00 per person.
