VERGEfest Workshop with Vitali & Rosemary

Touch as an expression tool in performance.Expand your expressive performance palette by investigating the full spectrum of touch vocabulary. Join us for this workshop to explore the richness of tactile composition in performance. Contact improvisation skills are a plus, but not required. Contact improvisers use touch in performance extensively. It is a foundation of contact technique and becomes almost invisible as a part of human interaction pallet. Are we aware of the meaning that is innate to touch? Are we using the diversity of meaning that is available? Do we assign meaning automatically? Do we assume there is no meaning, because it is a technique? What does audience see? This workshop will culminate in an optional performance at 8pm on the day of the workshop.
