Uncle Bo's presents Platinum Express
Jump on board Kansas City's own Platinum Express as they bring you the finest Rhythm and Blues, Hot-Buttered Soul, Motown, and Sophisticated Funk in the country. Dedicated to "keepin' the music alive," Platinum Express is a high energy show band creating its own unique sound by blending its hard driving five piece horn section, the "Full Steam Horns," with its airtight rhythm section and layering in the soaring harmonies of its three lead vocalists, plus front man, JJ Johnson, whose remarkable renditions of James Brown, Wilson Pickett, Ollie Woodson (the Temptations), Johnny Taylor and other icons consistently leave crowds screaming for more.
Platinum Express prides itself on its professionalism, bringing to the stage a remarkable combination of experience, stage presence and musical expertise. Collectively, members of Platinum Express share two Grammy awards and have performed with such musical icons as James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, members of the Temptations, the Righteous Brothers, Sister Sledge, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Liza Minnelli, Wayne Newton, The Tonight Show Band, members of Tower of Power, Bloodstone, Kevin Mahogany, and Kansas City Battle of the Bands winner George.
Platinum Express is the complete musical experience, bringing to the stage state-of-the-art sound and lighting expertly orchestrated by Brian Doyle, whose credits include Sheryl Crow, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Smashing Pumpkins.
