Fup Duck: SOLD OUT
Trouble Puppet Theatre Company hosts Glass Half Full Theatre, collaborating with The White Ghost Shivers on a work of American puppet theater.
FupDuck tells the story of Jake, a whiskey-brewing octogenarian who receives custody of his grandson Tiny, who is as gentle as Jake is cantankerous. The household is rounded out by Fup, an ornery twenty-pound duck whose singular presence inspires both chaos and heartfelt wisdom. Jim Dodge's hilarious contemporary fable with a giant heart finds its three-dimensional expression in this production of FupDuck. Witty, raunchy, and full of transcendent charm, this tale will captivate audiences ages twelve to one-hundred-and-twelve.*
This music theatre production is an Americanization of the traditional Japanese puppetry form of Bunraku, in which a narrator provides voices for the characters and each puppet is manipulated directly by three puppeteers. The result is a uniquely American folk form with an original American sound.
ATTENTION: Adult references and language, including but not limited to the F-bomb. Children under 12 not admitted.
Saturday Night: Flourish & Fool will open, performing a brief juggling and acrobatics act.
