Remezcala Presents Los Master Plus & G-Flux at Tropicalia
The Mexican duo 'Los Master Plus' played their first gig in their hometown Guadalajara, Mexico back in 2010 and haven't stopped touring since. It all started with the idea of mixing its members' eclectic musical taste in a project that was fun, fresh and straight up party-inducing. The duo uses popular mexican rhythms such as cumbia and norteño, while also copping the mustaches, hats and attitudes associated with the genres. Los Master Plus frame it all with healthy doses of electronic dance music, rock and hip hop and the band calls the results 'Cumbiatrónico' (cumbia + electronic) and 'Sabrosindie' (sabroso, spanish word for "tasty" + indie).
The group's live shows are wild dance parties with cumbia covers by the likes of Kings of Leon, Radiohead, No Doubt and Daft Punk, but completely adapted to the folksy, playful kind of spanish that represents a big part of mexican culture. They also play quirky interpretations of spanish speaking bands such as Los Teen Tops, Joan Sebastian, Juanes and Los Huracanes del Norte. Los Master Plus also have their own repertoire, and Mexican audiences increasingly dance to 'La Cumbia del Pero', 'La Ultima Coca del Desierto' and 'Mamarazzi'.
El Comanche' and 'Larry Mon', the two members of the band, keep the crowd wild and entertained and make every presentation an unforgettable experience, a fun show where it's almost impossible not to dance.
Los Master Plus have played more than 25 cities all over Mexico. They have also taken their live show to Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Las Vegas, Miami and Washington D.C. where they elicited great responses from both latino and american audience. They have shared stage with: Molotov, Kinky, Nortec, Celso Piña, Toy Selectah, Datarock, Mike Laure Jr., Sussie 4, Jumbo, Kid Sister and Modest Mouse.
Los Master Plus are planning to release their first full fledge LP later this year.
