PLOP! Nights presents MOON DIARY by Erin Tanner
Erin Tanner is an Olympia based visual artist whose comics, animations and puppetry articulate both a unique, sophisticated, sometimes-dark sense of humor and at once a golden innocence. Erin's signature style is known for its "cute" visual aesthetic layered with cosmic and philosophical musings, resulting in work that is highly poetic, endearing, funny, and full of surprises. Sincere and profound, this is a night of performance that you will want to hug!
Erin describes his live puppetry performance for the evening as the "in between stage of man and ghost, on a hallucinatory quest to drag an over sized key to unknown ends. Expect peril, monsters, perilous monsters, and some scenes may contain maybe brief moments of...!"
PLOP! is also proud to present a screening of Erin's beautiful animated film, "Moon Diary", which he created in collaboration with Curtis Randolph. Moon Diary is based on one of Erin's comics in which he imagines the last seven entries of the Moon's diary. Throughout these reflections, the Moon shares an intimate, first-hand account of his everyday routine, his closest friends, his world as it parallels our own, and his dreams.
The show may also feature a special guest performance and Erin's comics on display.
