ONLINE SALES HAVE ENDED BUT TICKETS ARE STILL AVAILABLE AT THE BOX OFFICE!
Comic and actor, Julie Novak, sold out her recent Rosendale debut of her one woman show, "America's Next Top: One Top's Hysterical Take on Life, Love, Tools and Boxes". Since many eager audience members were turned away at the door, she's coming back for an encore performance. The show is a bold, hilarious, and ground-breaking celebration and promises to have audiences laughing their way into the new year!
The show, running one-night-only on New Years Eve, December 31st, at the Rosendale Theatre, will be directed by Starling Productions/TMI Project founder and executive director, Eva Tenuto, who also co-wrote the show. "America's Next Top" offers keen insight into gender variance, the politics of queerness and everything in between. "The show is a collection of observations and true stories based on my life growing up as someone who found herself not really having a defined position on the gender spectrum," says Novak.
Included are moving stories about such things as coming out and experiencing homophobia and discrimination, all told with a twist of humor unique to Novak. "America's Next Top" showcases not only Novak's strong comedic talents, but also her skills as a singer, impersonator and all around dynamic performer.
"She is a bold and fearless performer," says Tenuto. "What I love most about her work is its ability to give a strong, powerful voice to an often voiceless community. Her ability to charm the audience and get them laughing, makes the sometimes taboo content accessible for everyone."
Audiences are sure to be won over. Novak has been touching and entertaining audiences for years, with her signature brand of humor. In addition to performing in and around the New York Tri-State area for the past 15 years, she studied comedy and improv at Second City in Chicago, and has performed stand-up in Chicago, New York, and Washington DC. She recently participated, along with such comedians as Lewis Black and Kathy Griffin, in the Serious Laughs Comedy Festival in Kingston, NY and headlined Queerstock, a Woodstock, NY gay and lesbian cabaret.

"Novak's progressive sense of social justice informs her work. Often it is fearless." - Jay Blotcher, veteran journalist, and community activist, and former media committee chairman for the founding chapter of ACT UP
