One Groove is a Hawaii-born but California Bay Area-based band made up of Chris Lavatai (Lead Vocals), Keone Catian (Vocals/Ukulele), Chris Canubida (Vocals), Kris Kanoho (Lead Guitar), Jose Dangtayan (Guitar), Brent Nishikawa (Drums) and Hini Galuteria (Bass). They released their first album "Make Your Move" in 2005 and landed two #1 hit radio singles and a spot in the 2008 Universal Pictures release, Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Even today, rarely a day goes by that you will not hear Heartache (KCCN FM100s Top Single of 2005) or Big Ship spinning on Island radio.
One Groove's musical direction continues to be firmly planted in the Island Reggae genre but pushes all boundaries and perceptions with the release of their second album "THE MOVEMENT". Building on the success of their past but not willing to simply repeat it, One Groove recaptures their numerous listening fans with the hit song titled "Cloud 9". Anticipation for this sophomore effort from the group of young men surrounded by the many influences of the vibrant San Francisco music scene, it is as much a reflection of One Groove's urban adopted home as it is of their Hawaiian roots.
Ten Feet was formed on the south shore of O`ahu in 1995... Raised in Kalihi Valley, founding members Andres Delos Santos & Josiah Kekoa played their acoustic guitars and sang songs for the surf crew on the beach at Sand Island. Soon after, Ericson Carnate & Nathan Martin were asked to join the group. With the addition of original bass player Jojo Guzman, the formula was complete; five guys, two feet each...Ten Feet.
With two Billboard chart-topping albums, Island Feeling and Island Feeling 2 under their belt, Ten Feet received four Hawaii Music Awards for the following categories: Song of the Year, Group of the Year, New Artist of the Year and Best Album of the Year. They also received Na Hoku Hanohano award for "Contemporary Album of the Year". After dozens of tours and hundreds of performances later, in 2004, the band took a break.
In 2005, with new bass player Jon Irei on board, the band returned to the stage and in 2006 was back in the studio for the first time in four years recording new music. 2008 marks 13 years of music for the band and with the release of album number three, "Everyday," Ten Feet embarks on a new chapter in their musical voyage by showcasing the smooth island sounds the band is known for.
For one night only, Island Sol Productions is proud to have One Groove and Ten Feet share the stage to show their Hawaiian pride and display their musical talents to the California Bay Area.
