Capricorn's Birthday Bash!
Workshop Registration Begins: December 5 and ends January 8th.
Who says you can't teach an old goat - or young kid - new tricks?
Come "Learn Something New!" this year at STH's annual CAPRICORN'S BIRTHDAY BASH on Sunday afternoon, January 11th at Gowanus Arts while celebrating the birthdays of STH's local goats. In lieu of presents, register online by January 8th to take a workshop in SILK SCREENING, SUSHI MAKING, MAGIC TRICKS or KNITTING to name just a few, and the birthday goats will charitably contribute all workshop proceeds to Doctors Without Borders this year. The afternoon workshops will culminate with sushi, birthday cake and a champagne toast - of course. Workshop size is limited, first-come, first served!
1:00-2:00pm Learn HOW TO HAVE Learn HOW TO NATURALLY BEAUTIFUL SKIN with Ayurvedic skincare goddess HEIDI KINNEY Charitable Contribution: $40 (Materials include: homemade herbal cleanser and nourishing oil for your skin type) ages 15 and up
1:00-3:00pm Learn HOW TO KNIT A SCARF with JENNIFER VON GRAEVENITZ Charitable contribution: $30 (Materials included; take home knitting needles, yarn and your new scarf!) ages 6 and up
2:00-3:00pm Learn HOW TO MAKE ORiGAMI BIRDS with ALBERT SPERANZA Charitable contribution: $10 (Materials included; take home your birds!) ages 8 and up
4:00-5:00pm Learn HOW TO PLAY CRIBBAGE with CAROLYN TACEY Charitable contribution: $15 ages 13 and up
3:00-5:00pm Learn HOW TO MAKE BEESWAX CANDLES with JENNIFER VON GRAEVENITZ Charitable contribution: $30 (Materials included; take home your own, original candle!) All ages
2:00-5:00pm Learn HOW TO MAKE (And Eat!) SUSHI with SUNG UNI LEE Charitable contribution: $40 (Materials included; take home sushi rolling mat and pair of chop sticks!) ages 15 and up
1:00-5:00pm Learn HOW TO PERFORM MAGIC TRICKS with magician HARRY FINEWATER Charitable contribution: $50 (Materials included; take home magic tricks to entertain your friends and family!) ages 10 and up
Saturday 1/10 from 2:00-5:00pm and Sunday 1/11 from 1:00-5:00pm Learn HOW TO SILK SCREEN with JESS POPLAWSKI Note: This is a special, two afternoon crash course in silk screening Charitable contribution: $150 (Materials included; bring up to 5 items to print on and take your customized screen home!) ages 15 and up
5:00-6:00pm LET THEM EAT CAKE! - Can't make the afternoon workshops? Then just make a charitable contribution and come for a magic show at "Happy Hour" with sushi, cake, and a champagne toast with your birthday celebrants! HAPPY HOUR ONLY Charitable contribution: For Adults $20 / Kids $ 10 (Workshop participants and teachers eat/drink/party free!)
