Out of the Fog Directed by: Maya Batash
Sarah Portico, a geologist and scientist travels to the remote Bareal Island near the North Pole to investigate the mysterious deaths of thousands of migrating birds. Their cause of death believed to be environmental. Upon her arrival on the island, she begins to experience strange visions and unearthly dreams. The dreams, both bizarre and breathtakingly beautiful, seem to predict her future. As she takes soil samples in the forest, she is haunted by these visions, which turn dark and terrifying, and eventually cause her to question her own sanity. She turns to Dr. Grimes for advice, the medical director of the only hospital on the island. George Sage, the handsome, yet hermit-like local forest ranger, is assigned to help her with her investigation. Yet as time goes by, and they develop a relationship, she begins to wonder if he is somehow involved in causing her terrifying experiences.
