17-year-old Saira has great ambitions for herself as she is about to finish school and explore a new world with David, her aspiring writer boyfriend. She's sure her India native father Nazir will support her decisions since he has indulged her interests in all things English and Western. Saira's life is turned upside down with a visit from uncle Riyaaz, a man of his word, with great pride in his roots who believes in India's traditions and certain standards for women. Riyaaz arrives with a proposal of marriage for Saira who is caught between her family and the love of her life. Her two worlds just can't co-exist. Both decisions come with serious consequences. One is fatal.
