I Swear I Can Fly!
I Swear I Can Fly! Written and performed by Francine Conley-Scott A collection of tall tales about flight, birth, parenthood, and strange encounters of everyday life in the first year of becoming a parent.
If the first year of parenthood is a plane taking off toward unfamiliar territory, then what happens once we land? What does it mean to be a mother, a father, a grandparent, a child, a teenager? From the personal to the universal, the stories collected, adapted and performed by Francine Conley-Scott in I Swear I Can Fly, show different perspectives of parenthood told from people big and small, young and old. Through stories that are bizarre, tragic and sublime, this one-woman performance gives new meaning to the idea of flight.
Francine Conley-Scott is a Minneapolis-based theater artist and a professor of French at Saint Catherine University in St. Paul. She has written, performed in and produced seven collaborative one-person shows with critical praise since 1991, and she is a founding member of the Franco-American theatre troupe, Le Thtre de la Chandelle Verte.
