Resonance Women's Chorus: Strange Thing
Resonance Women's Chorus presents Strange Thing, an exuberant spring concert full of big sound, humor, and joyful energy. The 125-voice women's community chorus is based in Boulder, Colorado, and is directed by Sue Coffee. Musical selections include the premiere of Gary Grundei's Strange Thing, a setting of Issa's haiku: To be alive:/what a strange thing!/In cherry blossom shade. Also on the program are Joan Szymko's She Who Makes Her Meaning Clear, a setting of text by Audre Lorde (When I dare), Hilliard and Boresi's Madrigals for the Information Age, Karl Jenkins' Adiemus, and works by Rosephanye Powell, Gwyneth Walker, Carole King, Malcolm Dalglish, Beethovens Wig, and the Isely Brothers.
Concerts include two evening performances on April 10 and 17, as well as our first children's concert, on April 17 at 3:00 pm. This one-hour performance will include selections from the evening program, spiced with additional "kid-friendly" material. Target age for the children's concert is 4-8; all are welcome.
