DOWNTOWN EATS: Brooklyn Bridge Anniversary Food Tour
Join us for the 127th Anniversary Celebration of the Brooklyn Bridge. In honor of this momentous occasion, the food tour will pay homage to New York's most iconic foods. Stops will feature brick oven pizza, New York style cheesecake, cocktails and much more. This is a taste of Old New York that spans many culinary styles. Don't miss it! The tour is part of the Downtown Alliance's walking food tour series, "Downtown Eats."
The culinary adventures feature a rotating cast of Lower Manhattan's best eateries. Past stops have included Alfanoose, The Dubliner, The Greene Grape and Zaitzeff. Participants have enjoyed wine and cheese pairings, Italian antipasti plates, lobster BLTs, artisanal olive oils, chocolate ganache, and much more of Lower Manhattan's tastiest fare.
As food expert Nicole Harnett shuttles attendees between establishments, they can gaze at the architecture of Lower Manhattan and learn about its history and recent changes that have made the area one of New York's fastest-growing residential neighborhoods.
This all happens Saturday, May 22, 2010, from 12pm - 3pm. Please meet the tour guide in front of the Equitable Building (120 Broadway) 10 minutes before the tour.
