Musicians and artists from the South Bay have united to present a benefit concert to raise funds for the survivors of the Japan disaster. This event will be held Sunday, June 12, 2011, at the Warner Grand Theatre in San Pedro. All proceeds will go to the 2011 Japan Relief Fund, administered by the Japan America Society of Southern California.
The concert, emceed by radio and TV personality Shadoe Stevens, will feature several prominent LA musicians and bands. In addition, there will be a silent auction featuring donated artworks from renowned local artists.
The UNITE4JAPAN benefit will disburse 100% of the proceeds to the Japan America Society. All donations will be forwarded to experienced non-governmental disaster relief agencies in Japan, who have a proven track record of emergency humanitarian relief, restoration and development of destroyed areas.
The Japan America Society of Southern California is a 501(c)(3) educational and charitable organization, Federal Tax ID #95-2021853. Donations to the 2011 Japan Relief Fund will qualify for charitable contribution tax deduction.
