Ian Moore & Friends
Back by popular demand, singer/songwriter/guitarist Ian Moore has reassembled the same talented group that rocked a sold out Blue Heron house last spring. But the concert, like all Ian Moore shows, will be anything but the same. The band will return with more music, this time for a two night gig to accommodate more fans. Moore will be joined by regional musicians: Islander, Jason Staczek, accordion, keyboards and vocals; Barb Antonio, cello; and Darren Loucas, banjo, mandolin, lap steel and vocals.
Always on the go, in recent months Moore has been feverishly at work recording his newest (7th) cd, El Sonido Nuevo (The New Sound) slated for release (Justice Records) this spring. Moore loosely defines the new cd as classic rock with influences as diverse as Electric Light Orhcestra, The Byrds, Queens of the Stone Age, Townes Van Zandt and others.
In January, Moore is honored to play back up for several shows in the New York City area for guitar great, Roky Erickson. The Texas born legend is known as founding member of the 13th Floor Elevators and pioneer of the psychedelic rock genre. âHe was a friend of my dadâs and influenced my music as well as providing the catalyst for such groups as Jefferson Airplane, the Dead and others,â says Moore.
In the weeks preceding his Vashon show, Moore and his band the Lossy Coils will also play several gigs in Oklahoma and Texas.
