Basic Sailing 101

Learning to sail could not be easier at Chicago Sailing. Within a few short days you will be a sailor, with skills that will support a lifetime of adventure. Our weekend schedule takes place over two consecutive weekends, Saturday and Sunday of each.
For weekday, day schedules, the course takes place over five consecutive days, Monday - Friday. For weekday, evening schedules the first week's sessions are Monday, Wednesday and Friday and Monday and Wednesday of the next week.
Our instructional vessels: Unquestionably, the fastest and most effective way to learn sailing is aboard a fast, responsive and safe sailboat. Because the J/22 exceeds these criteria in every way, it is the world's most popular adult training vessel and Chicago Sailing's obvious choice. All our vessels are equipped with auxililary motors.
Our instructional course book: US SAILING's Basic Keelboat is included in your course cost. Please visit the Chicago Sailing office in Belmont Harbor to pick up this book prior to starting your sailing lessons.
