L'ensemble Montréalais nous emmène en voyage dans la culture judéo espagnole du nord marocain au cours d'une soirée exceptionnelle de chant et de musique traditionnels.
L'ensemble musical Gerineldo a été créé à Montréal dans le but de préserver mais aussi de diffuser les chansons et la culture judéo-espagnoles du nord du Maroc. Dans un souci d'authenticité, les chansons sont interprétées de façon traditionnelle, soit a capella, soit accompagnées d'instruments traditionnels du Maroc : 'oud, darboukka, tambourin, bandir, violon et occasionnellement la flûte et la vielle, instrument à corde médiéval.
Gerineldo s'est produit à travers le monde : du Venezuela à l'Israël, de l'Espagne au Canada en passant par les Etats-Unis. Leurs derniers spectacles à Paris le 19 et 20 mars 2014, dans le cadre des Journées de judaïsme marocain, sous le haut patronage de Sa Majesté Mohammed VI, roi du Maroc, ont été un succès.

The Montreal group carries you away to Morocco for a journey into Judeo-Spanish culture from the north of Morocco. During an outstanding evening, you will experience traditional music and lyrics from Judeo-Spanish customs.
Gerineldo ensemble was founded in Montréal in order to preserve and broadcast music from Judeo-Spanish customs from the North of Morocco. They perform authentic Latino-Moroccan music a capella, or with instruments from Morocco such as 'oud, darbuka, tabor, bandir, violin and from time to time piccolo or hurdy-gurdy.
Gerineldo performed around the world: from Venezuela to Israël, from Spain to Canada through the United States.Their last performances on March 19 and 20, 2014 in Paris, as part of the Journées de judaïsme marocain, under the high patronage of His Majesty Mohammed VI, King of Morocco were a success.
