'14 Festival of Carols
Children's Choir of Michiana will join Vesper Chorale for this December's "Festival of Carols." Since it has been some time since Vesper Chorale has performed a traditional program of carols, 'tis the season to celebrate Christmas songs again.
The centerpiece of the concert will be Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols, accompanied by harp. Britten wrote seven Christmas carols during a dangerous Atlantic crossing in 1942, telling a friend he did it to relieve the boredom of the voyage. These carols were an early version of the completed work.
The program will feature a variety of other carols.
