Access Character from People who already Exist - Ashley Comeau
As part of Improv Fest Ireland 2014 www.improvfestireland.com
In this nurturing boot camp-styled class, we will focus on enriching character development through truth. First half of the class we delve into accessing truth of self in your characters. Throwing away notions of "trying to be funny" and just focussing on accessing the root of your own memories and experiences. Trust us, the funny will come from that! Second half of the class we will apply this logic to notable celebrities or persons of public reputation to access grander more referenced based people for the stage. This workshop is co-taught by Sam Roulston.
*Note you needn't be a member of Mensa or obsessed with celebrities to take this class. Ashley Comeau is an actor, improviser, and writer hailing from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She is a Second City mainstage alumna who wrote and starred in three revues at The Second City. Her revues garnered her a Dora nomination and a Canadian Comedy Award nomination. She is currently nominated for Best Female Improviser in Toronto from NOW Magazine's "Best Of Awards".
She performs all over North America with her Sketch duo The Lusty Mannequins, her improv duos Chomo and Cash, and The Rococo, and in many shows like Theatresports, Throwdown, and Girl's Night On! She has performed with the likes of Colin Mochrie to John Cleese and is happy to be here in Dublin for the very first time! She is so excited that she will probably hug you if you approach her after the show!
