Occult USA: The Process Church of the Final Judgment Sabbath Assembly Ritual and Salon
Fresh from a series of sold-out events in Los Angeles and New York, this live performance and multimedia presentation simulates a "Sabbath Assembly ritual‚ as conducted in the psychedelic '60s by one of the most notorious occult groups of the era, the Process Church of the Final Judgment.

The Process Church was an intensely creative, apocalyptic shadow side to the flower-powered '60s and New Age '70s. The influential group opened Chapters in London, Europe and across the United States. Dressing in black cloaks, they created their own heavily-designed magazines and promoted a controversial, quasi-Gnostic theology that reconciled Christ and Satan through awareness and love. Marianne Faithful, George Clinton and Mick Jagger participated in Process publications, and Funkadelic reproduced Process material in two of its albums.

After The Process Church disbanded they were accused of sensational crimes. The real story of this secretive group has at last emerged with Feral House's LOVE SEX FEAR DEATH: The Inside Story of The Process Church by former member Timothy Wyllie, and edited by Adam Parfrey of the award-winning Port Townsend publisher, Feral House.

Tonight, to celebrate the recent release of LOVE SEX FEAR DEATH, Feral House, Process Media, and Sound@One present a simulation of an actual Process Church ‚‚‚‚‚Sabbath Assembly‚‚‚‚‚ ritual. The Sabbath Assembly band, comprised of Kyle Forrester (Crystal Stilts), Jex Thoth (I Hate Records), Sophie Gonthier (Anything Maria), Anders Nilsson, and David Christian (of No-Neck Blues Band), will perform Process hymns and songs throughout the ritual.

Also presented is an excerpt from a full-length documentary of the group directed by William Morrison of the band Skinny Puppy. Author Wyllie (Father Micah) will follow to discuss the cult and his time within it in a multimedia presentation, and Adam Parfrey will guide a Q&A with the audience.

THE AUTHOR

TIMOTHY WYLLIE is the author of LOVE SEX FEAR DEATH: The Inside Story of the Process Church of the Final Judgment (Feral House).
Wyllie was born in England at the height of the Second World War, attended British public schools and trained as an architect. He attended architecture school with Process Church co-founder Robert De Grimston, and later committed himself to joining the apocalyptic cult-commune.

Leaving the community in 1977, he devoted himself himself to the study of non-human intelligences.

This study led to his first book, now widely regarded as a classic in the field, Dolphins, Extraterrestrials & Angels, published in 1984 and still in print. Ask Your Angels, the book he co-authored with Alma Daniel and Andrew Ramer, has become an international bestseller and is currently translated into 11 languages.

LOVE SEX FEAR DEATH: The Inside Story of The Process Church of the Final Judgment (Feral House), his most recent book, is his intimate exploration of the spiritual community that he had a hand in creating.

Timothy lives in a house he designed and built in the High Desert of New Mexico.
