Writing the Solo Show is a two-hour workshop, both for actors who would like to become writers, and for writers who would like to enter the growing field of writing for the solo performer. Let Monica Bauer, Writing Fellow at Quinnipiac University, and an award-winning playwright whose work has been performed Off Broadway, regionally, and internationally, help you discover your best solo writing talents. The workshop will examine the use of dialogue, monologue, narration, and soliloquy in building multi-dimensional characters, for shows full of dramatic conflict. Discussion and exercises will begin with these common experiences. Students should bring laptops and/or pen and paper. Tuition is $45 per student, and includes the 2pm performance (a prerequisite for the workshop). Workshop will begin at 3:30pm. Limit of 25.
