TICKETS AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR.
On Friday, September 25, 2009 local musician Tara Ward will debut the music from her new concept album "Revelations of a Blue Jacket" along with ideas from the story depicted through art, film and paintings of local artists.
The album chronicles the thoughts and emotions of a young woman after she finds what she believes to be a magical jacket in a thrift store.
At The Fremont Abbey Arts Center - 4272 Fremont Ave North, Seattle, WA.
$10 gets you in the door and a free download of the new album.
The album was produced and engineered December 2008 by Casey Foubert (Pedro the Lion, Sufjan Stevens, and Richard Swift).
The art collaboration began in June with the intention of creating art pieces to depict parts and themes of the story. The the story is about young woman named Cordelia who believes that the blue jacket gives her the ability to know the future and more specifically the man whom she is going to fall in love with. Cordelia grapples with questioning whether or not the jacket's powers are real and if they are - is it good or evil?
"Revelations of a Blue Jacket" offers an ideal foundation for artistic collaboration across media as the protagonists story unfolds through each medium, showing the varying perceptions that just one mind can hold. An art music video for the song "circles" was created by Chuck Potrykus which can be viewed at www.revelationsofabluejacket.com. Other artists such as Jess Flegel, Shannon Roche, Matthew Whitney, Crowfield, Jen Grabarzyck, Sallie Keena, Nat Tenwolde and more will present their works at the album release party September 25th as a part of an art exhibit that will accompany the concert. This will be Tara Ward's first solo endeavor since the end of her seven year stint with the band Late Tuesday.
