With a sound called "Sophisticated Americana", the Twangtown Paramours offer a hybrid of Nashville and Austin, TX. After spending a summer on the Folk DJ and Country Roots charts, the Paramours were named one of the Artists on the Verge by Bluegrass Special magazine, and were chosen as finalists in the prestigious Kerrville New Folk competition. Mike is a busy session guitarist and sideman in Nashville, and Mary Beth is an in-demand vocalist for a huge range of recording projects. On stage they are gracious, warm and full of folksongs that matter.
With almost four decades of performing and a half dozen acclaimed CDs, Bernice Lewis has built a solid national reputation. She has studied vocal improvisation with Bobby McFerrin, guitar technique with Alex DeGrassi and Guy van Duser, and songwriting with Rosanne Cash and Cris Williamson resulting in a featured performances on NPR's Mountain Stage and at the Kennedy Center. Tonight she celebrates the release of Checks and Love Letters, her first album in 8 years. Just so happens it was produced in conjunction with the Twangtown Paramours, so we anticipate much harmonious collaboration in tonight's concert!
