Tumbling Bones employs nothing but acoustic instruments, tap shoes and their glorious voices on a folky mix infused with the energy of rock 'n' roll. These boys are establishing themselves as one of today's preeminent vocally-driven roots groups with their nuanced a cappella gospel numbers and inventive harmony arrangements. Just now releasing their first full-length CD, they have already played NPR's A Prairie Home Companion, cracked the Top 10 on the Roots Music Report's folk radio chart with their debut EP, and toured to critical acclaim across the US and Europe.
Jean Rohe is a graceful and visionary multi-lingual singer & composer, mixing jazz, folk, and Brazilian traditions on narrative songs that range from fantastical riffs on old folktales to autobiographical sojourns. "A sure-footed young singer-songwriter," in the words of The New York Times, she appears regularly on New York Public Radio, and has toured her projects throughout the U.S. and as far as Havana's Teatro Nacional. Her eclectic and genre-bending 8-piece ensemble, Jean Rohe & The End of the World Show, showcases a unique musical voice that sounds like a love song for a world imperiled.
