Dudu Tassa and The Kuwaitis
Dudu Tassa is one of Israel's most popular rock stars. Over there, you can only enjoy him at a large concert hall or festival. Here, thanks to the BJMF, you can hear him in an intimate club setting. Catch him here on his way to the SXSW Music Showcase in Austin. Like many Israeli artists, Tassa is finding creative inspiration by exploring his musical roots; he's researched and rejuvenated the music of his grandfather and great uncle, known as the Al-Kuwaiti brothers, who, despite their being Jewish, led one of the most popular and influential bands in Iraq and the Arab world in the early 20th century.
The Somerville Symphony Orkestar opens the show with their Slavic fun and funk.
