WATSON: THE MUSICAL
WHAT IS WATSON: THE MUSICAL?
Watson: The Musical is a satiric love letter to fans of Sherlock Holmes and musical theater alike. Set in a spoof of Victorian London, the show parodies both Arthur Conan Doyle's detective stories and conventional Broadway, making for 90 minutes of intrigue, song, dance, murder, and hilarity, though not necessarily in that order. With a script by Sherlock-nut Grant DeArmitt, lyrics by Broadway connoisseur Jerron Herman and composition by musical wunderkind Carol Anne Ausband, the show is a reminder of the delight that mystery and comedy can bring to an audience.
WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
The story begins when Sherlock Holmes departs London for a time, leaving his loyal sidekick, Dr. John Watson, in charge of Holmes' consulting detective business. Things take a turn for the ghastly when a rich young man named Lord Collarheath Basil enlists Dr. Watson's help in solving the strange murder of his father, whom he claims was throttled by a ghost! Dr. Watson must discover the truth without Holmes' aid, and quickly. There's no way of knowing when or who the ghost might attack next
