FEATURING:

THE MERRYLEES  RACHEL SERMANNI  MICHAEL PEDERSEN  KEVIN WILLIAMSON

THE MERRYLEES
Formed at the start of 2012 and have gained plaudits up and down the UK. Sell out shows followed in London, Liverpool, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Ghent and beyond. They recorded their debut single with Bill Ryder-Jones (The Coral) and when launching it were joined on stage by guitarist Lee Southall (The Coral). More recently, they've tour supported the likes of Babyshambles; The Zombies; Allah-Las; and headlined the 2013 T-Break stage at T-in-the-Park. Things are booming in this camp: https://www.facebook.com/TheMerrylees

Looking as retro as Miles Kane fronting The Strypes, Scots The Merrylees actually sound more dreamy, with their Bill Ryder-Jones produced single 'For You' melding The Coral, The Bees and Scott 4-era Scott Walker into a deliciously heady balm.
NME

RACHEL SERMANNI
Scottish singer/songwriter Rachel Sermanni consolidates her growing reputation as one of folk's bright new things with her debut album Under Mountains, recently released on Middle of Nowhere Recordings. http://www.rachelsermanni.net/

'Really, really something special. She's amazing. Listen to her voice. Quite astonishing' (Guy Garvey, Elbow frontman and BBC6 Music presenter).
'Her voice is an instrument of incredible purity ... folk noir gem ... a voice and songs to go stellar' (Sunday Times).
'Powerful and graceful' (Independent).
'Her debut (release) is confident, enchanting and ballsy' (Q Magazine).
'Bewitchingly graceful, exquisitely articulated songs command spellbound silence' (Herald Glasgow).

plus a rare spoken word double performance from Neu! Reekie! co-chiefs.....

MICHAEL PEDERSEN

If you like poetry that is cool, smart, hilarious and quirky and can just suddenly rip your heart out, Michael Pedersen is your man'  (Irvine Welsh)

KEVIN WILLIAMSON
(delivering a multi-media interpretation of Tam O'Shanter including music)
KW is a poet, novelist, performer and publisher. His published work includes "A Visitor's Guide To Edinburgh" (co-written with Irvine Welsh in 1993), and "Drugs and the Party Line" (1997). In 2005, he won the Robert Louis Stevenson Award for literature. His first collection of poetry, In A Room Darkened, was published by Two Ravens Press in October 2007. He is co-founder of Neu! Reekie! and a burning bright Burns zealot with a hit festival show in tow. Back 1992 Williamson launched a literary magazine called Rebel Inc and through its pages was one of the first publishers of such Scottish writers as Irvine Welsh, Laura Hird, Alan Warner, and Toni Davidson. Williamson joined forces with Edinburgh-based Canongate Books to create the Rebel Inc imprint which, in the following five years, published almost sixty titles, mixing Scottish fiction with the international counter-culture and the politics of dissent. Within the Rebel Inc imprint Williamson re-published a series of out of print titles under the heading of Rebel Inc Classics that included writers such as Richard Brautigan, Alexander Trocchi, Charles Bukowski, Nelson Algren, John Fante, Knut Hamsun, Jim Dodge, Robert Sabbag and Jack London.
