Hanif Kureishi (remember the wonderful My Beautiful Laundrette?) penned this sweet, autumnal romance starring Jim Broadbent and Lindsay Duncan who revisit Paris on their 30th wedding anniversary hoping to breath a little Gallic charm on the dying embers of their marriage. It quickly becomes clear that they have long outlived their romance and are rubbing each other raw. She wants to sightsee, he wants to read the paper. But they run into an old friend (Jeff Goldblum), and who becomes the match they need to rekindle their love for each other. Directed by Roger Michell, who gave us Notting Hill and last years Hyde Park on the Hudson. Played the Toronto Film Festival.
