When I Walk
One day at the beach, Jason DaSilva, filmmaker and cartoonist of sunny disposition, suddenly fell, his legs giving way under him. This was the first intimation at age 25 that he had multiple sclerosis. Nevertheless, DaSilvas upbeat diary film is filled with humor and playful animation, a documentary record of his determination to beat the odds, even when they were so definitively stacked against him. The film received standing ovations at Sundance, and was a major award-winner at HotDocs in Toronto. Partially funded by Kickstarter.
