Nebraska follows The Descendants, which was nominated for Best Picture and won him a screenwriting Oscar. Starring Bruce Dern and Will Forte, Nebraska it is an often comic and always moving look at a father-son relationship, as well as an elegiac tribute to Alexander Paynes home state, now in decline, captured in powdery black and white that evokes the dustbowl photography of Dorothea Lange. Dern won Best Actor at this years Cannes Film Festival. Played Telluride and New York Film Festivals.
