Fashion, Passion & Austen - A Salon for Dead Writers Production of Jane Austen's EMMA by Jane Austen, Adapted by Michael Bloom
Dead Writers Theatre Collective is hosting a Salon for their Spring production of Jane Austen's EMMA, adapted by Michael Bloom and directed by Artistic Director Jim Schneider.
Featured Guest Speaker, Jeffrey Nigro,Dramaturg for Dead Writer's EMMA is the Traveling Lecturer for the Midwest Chapter of the Jane Austen Society of North America, and currently serves as Regional Coordinator for the Greater Chicago Region. Jeffrey will present his award-winning presentation, "Manners & Muslin" - fashion and customs of Jane Austen's world.
The designers and lead actors of EMMA will perform scenes from the play and feature costume and scenic designs for all to enjoy. Delicious food and wine in the beautiful setting of the Loyola University Art Museum. Private tours of the exhibit will be conducted for those who are interested.
This benefit will assist Dead Writers in raising funds to produce a first-class, masterpiece - theatre style production of the Chicago premiere of this much loved Austen classic.
