EINSTEIN IN THE HOLYLAND
EINSTEIN IN THE HOLYLAND chronicles Einstein's little known 1923 visit to Palestine. In 1952, David Ben Gurion offered Einstein the presidency of Israel but he declined. The documentary, which is based on Einstein's journal of his trip, sheds light on his impression of Israel and provides insight as to why he turned down the offer of the office of president nearly 30 years later.
Santa Fe Institute's Professor Cris Moore joins us after the film to discuss the connection between Einstein, music and math. Moore is a computer scientist and mathematician and was featured in the award winning NMPBS production of "The Majesty of Musci and Math."
