Greta Nisswandt is a local artist who has recently released her Kickstarter-funded debut album, The Ocean Shelf! Having been singing and performing her whole life, she wrote this album to learn how to write an album - do the thing you fear and the death of fear is certain and all that. Backed by a full band, this project combines excellent musicianship and earnest lyrics for a listening experience that is equal parts magical and honest. Listeners are calling it whimsical, tender, optimistic, free, contemplative, groovy, a solid lineup of introspective bops.
You may know Greta from her first recording project, The 52 Weeks Project, a year-long commitment to recording a song a week, for the sole purpose of starting somewhere. This taught her two fundamental truths: done is better than perfect, and the best way to do it is to do it. Following up with her debut record, she stayed passionate about this approach to making music...join us for a musical reminder of how good it is to be alive!
