Ghost Wagon is a collaborative of similarly-minded musicians, led by singer/songwriter Chuck Nelson and like moths seduced by the lamp, are drawn to the light.
Ghost Wagon has a country rock feel think Tom Petty or Traveling Wilburys. Also, its fun to see a band that looks like they are having fun on stage and these folks look like theyre having fun. They have an energy thats infectious. Ann Treacy, Mostly Minnesota, Saint Paul
I dig the songwriting, it's pretty dark. Sounds like: Jayhawks meets John Mellencamp with a dash of John Doe & Exene. Male/female harmonies - that's a distinguishing element. Michele K-Tel, Radio Valencia, San Francisco
Labels are tricky though. Simply put, this is American Music. Ghost Wagons sounds flow from Americana to rock to country to pop to folk. The songs include multilayered instruments and guest players (fiddle, sax, pedal steel, accordion, guitars, ukulele, mandolin, keys) to create rich expressions as well as experiences.
This time around Ghost Wagon is: Matthew Dittmar (sax/guitar), Marc Dockter (keys), Mandy Fassett (fiddle/vocals), John Henderson (drums), Neil Johnson (bass), John Mack (guitar/vocals), Chuck Nelson (vocals/guitarsharp), and AJ Swenson (vocals).
