See the Future! Saturday Night Sampler is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature. With voices that blend like smoke and air, and touching, human and soulful lyrics, The Sea, The Sea has captivated folk enthusiasts. NPR included a cut from their new album in their list of "10 Songs Public Radio Can't Stop Playing" saying "Their harmonies remind me of The Milk Carton Kids and The Weepies, with feather-light production which includes the obscure glass harmonica."
Nashville singer-songwriter Claudia Nygaard's latest album, "Let the Storm Roll In," reached the number one spot on the Roots Country chart. "Claudia Nygaard's music invitingly straddles the fence between country and folk her songs rival the likes of Guy Clark or Ian Tyson in their plainspoken, memoir-like quality" Sing Out Magazine.
With a Juno nomination for the Best Traditional/ Roots album of the year, Canadian artist John Wort Hannam puts infuses folk tradition with muscular verve. "John Wort Hannam looks like Billy Bob Thornton, hails from rural Alberta, and does roots-country like no one's business," Spill Magazine.
