'Come Out For GLSEN' : Wine & Cheese Affair

Where: St. Georges Parish Hall, Ridgewood Ave, Maplewood.

When: Saturday October 11th, 7pm

Who: Members of The LGBT community, their family, friends and allies / supporters

Why: To raise awareness and funds for the Northern New Jersey Chapter of GLSEN so we can continue to fight the bigotry and hate that STILL exists in our schools.

The evening will be a celebration Coming Out Day with live music, cheese and wine and an update on the work of GLSEN Northern New Jersey by Co-Chair of GLSEN NNJ Guido Sanchez.

* Our young people are growing up in a society that is much more socially aware of LGBT issues than many of us experienced, this in itself is a mixed blessing.

* With more acceptance and visibility comes more resentment and vocal intolerance of the LGBT communities.

* Whether you are the parent of a Gay or questioning teen or a Gay Parent of school age kids, GLSEN needs youand you need GLSEN. The only organization dedicated solely to the LGBT community in schools.

We are grateful to St. Georges for use of their facilities and excited at the prospect of bringing together the many groups that exist in our diverse and community.
