Produced by Nancee Magistad Performed by Amy Stedman, Pat Schmidt, and Nancee Magistad
Once upon a time, Community Ed was performing at HUGE and Nancee was in the audience. Amy and Pat started improvising about kissing fish; after Nancee recovered from a bout of laughter, she was hooked. "I have got to work with those two!" Nancee exclaimed to herself.
Yada, yada, yada, Community Ed with a Side of Just Nancee (CEWASOJN for short) was born and combines the talents of Amy Stedman/Pat Schmidt, better known as the world-renowned improv duo Community Ed, with the stand-up je ne sais quoi of Just Nancee (aka Nancee Magistad when she's not pretending to know French).
Amy Stedman and Pat Robinson Schmidt met in 2012 after Pat's daughter introduced them. Realizing they had great chemistry after taking a duos improv class, they formed Community Ed in the Spring of 2013. Amy and Pat play Marg and Carol Lyn, best friends who come together on stage to peel back layers of dysfunction and personal chaos that define their reality.
As for Nancee, she started making people laugh by plagiarizing Muppets jokes in 6th grade. Her plan worked; knowing she was a kid and the statute of limitations would expire before she turned 18, she did not get sued by Hoberman-Lieberman Productions! Fast-forward 30 years: Nancee now performs stand-up and writes/produces comedy and sketch shows at Honey, The Phoenix, and Bryant Lake Bowl... and church. She even writes her own material!
Come on down to the Bryant Lake Bowl on Wednesday, September 4 or September 18 for an improv-comedy show that defies the odds and evens. "Sounds like a hoot! #amiright?" - Wall Street Journal
