Gutterbug
Stephen Bugsby, known by his street name Bug, left home on his 18th birthday and never looked back. GUTTERBUG picks up three years later at his rock bottom when he is pulled from a wrecked car and revived in the back of an ambulance, only to awaken the next morning handcuffed to a hospital bed. A low voice from the neighboring bed veiled by a curtain inquires as to how he ended up where he his, so far from home. Unbeknownst to Bug, hes closer to home than hes been in years.

Dialogue between Bug, the man behind the curtain, and a kind-hearted nurse, and a dose of pain killers trigger a kind of delirium in which Bug revisits memories from before the accident. We journey through the high times of his crust punk life; in short sex, drugs and rock and roll. We then plummet to when the high wears off and untreated depression, rejection, and suicidal ideation kick in. At this moment, on his 21st birthday, a newfound companion with her own demons, Jenny, asks Bug how he wants to spend his special day. Through the haze, he has a moment of clarity. I want to go home.

Bug and his crew of misfits lead us down an adrenaline-packed, drug-fueled adventure to reconnect with his parents, which ultimately lands him in the very hospital bed from which he now recounts his story.
