Tour is self-paced. See all the views, a couple, or just one--you decide. Pre-registered attendees may check in at any location and receive a wristband if they want to visit other locations.
Featured buildings include:
Ziggurat The distinctive terraced pyramid shaped office building on the west side of the Sacramento River overlooks Old Sacramento and the Tower Bridge. The building was designed by local firm E.M. Kado Architecture and completed in 1998. The exterior is clad in Minnesota limestone and high performance glass with a special beige dot matrix coating to match the limestone color. This is one of the first new buildings in the United States to use Seismic Dampers.
300 Capitol Mall Known to many as the "emerald tower" it was voted 1992 as "Building of the Year" by the Building Owners and Manager's Association (BOMA). The building was designed by DMJM and has over 380,000 square feet. Built in 1984, the stepped exterior features an arching facade of aqua-silver glass. The building has 14 corner offices offering panoramic views and 36 balconies.
Citizen Hotel The CalWest Life Insurance Building was Sacramento's first skyscraper opening its doors in 1926. The building is 14 stories high and topped by a two-story pitched copper mansard roof. It was designed by the State of California's first state architect George Sellon. In November 2008 the building reopened after three years of construction as the Citizen Hotel.
Elks Building Penthouse Designed by Sacramento's renowned architect, Leonard J. Starks the Elk's Building is an excellent early 20th Century example of Italian Renaissance Style.
