Rex Fowler carries the Aztec Two-Step legacy forward into a new era following partner Neal Shulmans retirement. Rex and his new ensemble will perform ATS fan favorites and forgotten gems (including some of Neals originals), recapturing the multi-instrumental sound of the duos original studio recordings with 2- and 3-part harmonies. And of course Rexs band banter and stage patter is still as warm and engaging (and funny) as ever!
Rex will be joined by Dodie Pettit on guitar and vocals, and Steven "Muddy" Roues on upright bass and blues harmonica. An accomplished songwriter and recording artist, Pettit first met Rex Fowler when she was a session player and singer on ATSs 1980 "Times of Our Lives album. She was also part of the first generation of female rock bands of the 1960s, as a member of The Untouchable and The Enchanted Forest. Roues has had a long career as a record producer, songwriter, recording artist and touring musician. He continues to perform his original music regularly with The Roues Brothers, Finn & The Sharks and The UpSouth Twisters. Muddy has performed live or recorded with luminaries, B.B. King, Bo Diddley, Howling Wolf, James Cotton, Sam and Dave, The Chambers Brothers, Wilson Pickett, John Hiatt, Joe Ely and David Bromberg.
