Spring Medicine Concert w/ Correo Aereo, Paul "Cheoketen" Wager & Makiyo Saksita
Enjoy a spring tonic of Native, Latin and Japanese acoustic music in our cedar longhouse. Correo Aereo's Latin/World Music Duo. Cheokten's Native American flute & spirit-gifted songs. Makiyo Saksita's songs inspired by nature.
The Seattle based, Correo Aereo (Air Mail) is an award winning acoustic multi-instrumental and vocal Latin/World Music Duo. They perform traditional music of Latin America: especially of Venezuela, Argentina & Mexico, as well as their own original music deeply inspired by swimming and playing in these ancient rivers of traditions while being alive to organic innovation.
NW Native American flutist, Paul "Che oke ten" Wagner" will focus upon his Spirit-gifted songs that have come to him with visions of healing & prayer for all relations (tree people, animal people, human people). Makiyo Saksita, a gifted singer-songwriter from Yokohama Japan, gathers her musical inspiration by listening to the voice of nature, this spiritual message ever present in her voice and emotion. Come early to enjoy the new exhibition in the Duwamish Longhouse Art Gallery--Nytom: Makah Visions.
Complimentary tickets for enrolled Duwamish members at the door.
