BOX
In Residence at IRT Theater:
Improbable Stage Company's 5th Anniversary Benefit Performance of BOX Every BOX has six sides, twelve edges, and eight corners. It is consistent. It is what's expected. It does not change. So often we make ourselves slaves to the finite expectations of our families, our bosses, our society, ourselves . . . so, when does our BOX become a prison?
Performances: Monday, June 24 at 7pm Tuesday, June 25 at 7pm Wednesday, June 26 at 7pm
Ticket Price: $25 Improbable Student Price: $18 Reception following each performance
Told predominantly through movement, this theatre piece contemplates the safety, the comfort, and the joy of the BOX we know, all the while asking us to consider the possibilities that can arise when one is willing to step outside of that with which we are familiar, and perhaps love more than anything else, in order to experience or perhaps even to create something new.
Are you intrepid, or are you content with the finite definition of happiness and success that our social order dictates? Find out as you take this theatrical journey exploring a life lived inside and outside the BOX.
Tucked away in the old Archive Building in Greenwich Village NYC, IRT is a grassroots theater development laboratory providing space, support and community for independent artists.
