Soprano Anika Kildegaard has sung with such notable groups as The VocalEssence Ensemble Singers, the Minnesota Chorale, the SPCO Chorale, MPLS (imPulse), Magpies & Ravens, and the St Paul Civic Symphony Chorus. Kildegaard is a champion of new music, having premiered and commissioned multiple new works from composers across the Midwest.

Violinist Alissa Jacobsen is a classically trained violinist who has played a variety of music in the past 22 years. Currently, she plays gypsy jazz violin with Mississippi Hot Club, and old-timey fiddle in the Blood Washed Band. During the day, she farms organic vegetables and has a passion for wool sweaters.

These two women met in college and have been playing classical and jazz music over the years. This new project was inspired by Anika when she heard Holsts 4 songs for Voice and Violin. Thus began a search for music that explores the compelling nature of melody unsupported by accompanying instruments. Together, they curated a program for the season with themes of winter landscapes and the mysticism that lies therein.
