2nd Annual Studio 210 Residency Show
DSDT is happy to announce the second year of our Summer Studio Residency program show! The 210 Studio Residency supports Bay Area artists in need of space to make their work. In these lean times for the arts, DSDT is happy to be able to make a rare offer of rehearsal space, performance opportunities, peer support and professional feedback from Deborah Slater. The residency is intended as a vehicle for emerging artists to hone their skills, experiment, and dive in to making performance. After a very successful first round last year, we're proud to once again host two fantastic Bay Area artists working on the creation of new works.
Chris Black will develop "Duets for Girls", a collection of dances for three women ranging in age from 34 to 52. Along with collaborators Lizz Roman and Courtney Moreno, Black aims to transcend the stereotypes of female duet choreography, take greater physical risksm and capture real athleticism and passion.
Megan Finlay, along with a cast of 9 performers, will work vocally, physically and with text to create a physical and acrobatic show based on Shakespeare's Macbeth, with live trumpet a live vocal score and using a loop station.
The 210 studio is an intimate space with only approximately 40 seats. These shows will sell out, so reserve your spot early!
