21-year-old Ariana Gillis was named Canada's Young Performer of the Year in 2009, and is ably fulfilling the promise she showed as a teen. Her whimsical, addictive songs tell stories that just don't occur to most people: creatures in a lake with healing powers, people in adjacent graves chatting with each other.
