Acclaimed Canadian singer, songwriter and rock 'n roll bandleader Fred Eaglesmith is a genuine iconoclast, old-time showman, and true original with nineteen albums to his name. He has doggedly gone his own way as an independent artist, becoming almost a cult figure as a result. His greatest reward is the thousands of devoted fans across North America who flock to his thrilling live shows and have built festivals to showcase his concerts. But he has also been rewarded by the music industry itself, including a Juno Award, song placement in films by Martin Scorsese, a #1 hit on the bluegrass charts, wowing David Letterman, and finding his songs included in the curriculum at two colleges.
Eaglesmith and his band, the Traveling Steam Show, are in motion most of the year, roaming from show to show in a school bus and RV converted to run on gas and used cooking oil. The troupe camps out and cooks up their own feasts on the road in order to stay real. It's all part and parcel of his mission to deliver a memorable, moving entertainment experience for the masses.
