NIGHT OF A MILLION BARBRAS is
- an "experience" - a time machine - a safe space for faggotry - a mechanism to explore life, liberty, and the nature of human consciousness refracted through the immortal prism which is Barbra Joan Streisand - a fool's errand, doomed as we are to traipse despairingly amidst creeping dread circumscribed by oh never mind - that feeling you get when you park your lucite stool right smack center stage in that spotlight, kick your gorgeous head back and let those memories light the everloving corners of your m i n d - an antidote for loneliness - a participatory democracy - your idea of a good night out Terry no I do not want to stay home drink Merlot and watch CNBC I want to go out and be in a room full of queers and Hillary-moms and figure out what in the hell were going to do with/on this planet, Terry, would it kill you to get out and - a fundraiser, a consciousness-raiser, a happening in Loring Park - and other musical instruments
This very special evening will be presented exactly 32 years after La Streisand's original Malibu engagement, in which she conquered stage fright, built a stage in her backyard, and whipped off a couple of numbers to raise millions for the Democrats and save the world.
Join us, won't you? I'd really like you to come.
